I am an army engineer from Division (905). Captain Ye Win Aung from my army division is forcing everyone in our division to recruit new soldiers. If we are not successful in our recruitment, he threatens to re-deploy us from well-paid positions at the base camp to other places. On top of that, he also demands that we must recruit at least one new soldier per month. We have also been given strict orders to recruit even underage kids, beggers, and homeless people by either offering them money or capturing them by force. As soon as they take off their uniforms, the generals drop to the bottom like a rock. It has been very obvious in the history. Let's take a look at Tin Oo, Bo Ni, Saw Myint, Ne Win, Saw Maung, Khin Nyunt, etc. None of them have a good ending when they lose their power. When Ne Win was powerful, the Army called him "Father". In U.S, after serving in the army for three years, they can go to the universities of their choice free of charge. A friend of mine won DV lottery and immigrated to US, and then he joined the army. He gets salary and also goes to school. Let's have a look at our Burmese Army.

In Burmese Navy, as soon as they approach the port, they have to recruit at least two people. If they can't, they are not allowed to come back to the ship. Then they grab anyone they could find. They force everyone, including beggar (who sleeps under a tree) by asking whether you want to join the army or go to jail. Who want to go to jail!

Everyone has to join the army. Then they still don't have to enjoy life. They have to do everything on the ship like hard labor mopping the floor and cleaning the bedrooms. If they resist, they will be beaten. How rude! Let me share my personal experience. About 6 months ago. My ferry did not take me back home so I had to get off at Shwe Gone Dine traffic light. It was a little after midnight. There was no bus at the bus-stop. Police on the motorcycle came and asked me whether I wanted to go home. I apologized. But they tried to arrest me. Then I planned to go home with a car I could find. Then the police asked me again why I did not go home before. Then they asked me where I lived. Then I apologized again. Not long after, there was a person who walked past in front of me.

They seemed to know him. Then they asked him whether he did not want to go home and he wanted to come with them. Then they arrested him and took him away. I was so afraid that I jumped on a car and rode to Thiriminaglar market and then back to Insein.

Burmese Navy has been taking away people for so long. It was when I picked containers at Thilawa Port. Porters from BoAung Kyaw Port came in equivalence of 10 people for one container.

On that day, custom officer gave us such a hard time that it became too late into dark. There was nothing to eat at Thilawa Port. So they had to go back to Kyaik Kauk for meal. Then no one decided to eat. When the port closed, everyone had to sleep outside. I let the ten-wheeler's driver know and slept on its roof. In the morning, I heard that people were taken away to be forced to work as porters. Then labor leader came and said that his men were gone and I had to take responsibility. How could I find them if they are not in prison? It is hard to find out which branch of the army took away these people. It is not a residential area. It is very disgusting work that the Burmese army is doing.

It has been learnt that Sit Thwe Aung, son of Minister U Aung Phone, Ministry of Forests was stabbed in a local night club. He was stabbed at close range by an unidentified person. U Aung Phone has two sons, Sit Thwe Aung and Sit Taing Aung. They are believed to be from the Shwe Man clique.

Most of his colleagues and others have known him as a thick head. He has been snitching on the Burmese freedom fighters for a long time. He is of pure Chinese ancestry. Since he has Chinese blood in him, his eyes are slander and small. In fact he has uneven eyes. He is currently living at Bar Street Upper Block also known as Sate Kan Thar Street. Every night, he goes around the massage parlors in Bar Street asking them bribe money and turf money. His brother works as a street vendor selling fried noodles near the corner of Hospital and Bar Street every morning. That thick head address is No. 241 Upper Bar Street (Upper Sate Kan Thar Street). He lives right above the Kyaw Naing Electronic Store. He is the primary informer for the Police Station in Kyauk Ta Dar.

Next one is Police officer working in the Kyauk Ta Dar Police station. He also owns a massager parlor by the name of “No Two Beauty Shop” in Upper Bar Street. He has appointed one manager for this Beauty Shop/ Massage Parlor instead of managing himself. The address of the Beauty Shop is 265-175 Upper Bar Street (Upper Sate Kan Thar Street). This massage parlor is directly above the Electronic Store name “Shin Than Chin”.

They are the people who are responsible for informing and snitching on the civilians and monks where there was a September Uprising. That’s why we have to punish them violently for their behaviors.

This photo was taken by the very courageous and selfless individuals working for Burmese Democracy. The person in this photo lives in Kyauk Ta Tar Township. He is been asking bribe money and illegal turf money from Beauty Saloon and Street Vendors near Bar Street. He usually rings in around 5000 kyat (5 USD) every day from them.

As you can see from the picture, he has a two-ways walkie talkie holstered around his waist. Please be ware of people like him who works for SLORC. And also do not hesitate to punish him if there is an opportunity.

U Shwe is the owner of War War Win corn factory, who is worse than Lieutenant General Soe Shein, the right-hand man of SPDC leader, Than Shwe. He is the middle person between Chinese Communist Party and SPDC since 1988, when SPDC took power.
When U Shwe's grandson's birthday party was held at Trader's Hotel, it was attended not only by the Chinese diplomat but also by Shwe Man, Thein Sein, their wives, other SPDC members and many generals.

Under the SLORC rules, a new breed of millionaires in Burma has sprung up. They are not only the business partners to the SLORC but also the closest allies of SLORC. Because of their illegal and monopolistic business practices, the Burmese Economy has been down the drain. They promoted and practices monopoly in every sector of Burmese economy and weed out any competitions by any means. In some market, competition has been forced out or blocked out of any business opportunities in Burmese Economy. Among them, a person name Maung Wate is famous for his unfair business practices. He is a 35 years old man with Chinese ancestry. Usually his business and companies control most construction projects that government has in its pipe lines. He has been rewarded with those big government construction projects because he has bribed a tremendous amount of money to General Than Shwe and its followers. Not only that he also bribed or brown-nose all the family members including sons and daughters of the SLORC generals.

No business men or women in Burma have a chance to do business like Maung Wate.. In Burma, no one can freely trade or perform any business activities within Burma. Let alone overseas. There is no freedom of information towards business opportunities. No one can bid any government grant construction, renovation or trading except their closet allies. Only a small group of people such as Maung Wate who is closely related to Than Shwe, Maung Aye and Shwe man has this opportunity of getting government contracts and grants.

Parents of Maung Wate earn a modest living by selling and trading tea leaves business near the Downtown Rangoon. Maung Wate is also an armature golfer. Because of his golfing ability, he taught golfing lessons to middle age men who wanted to climb upward in social ladder by expanding their social network. That is the very reason Maung Wate got a foot in the business door by getting to know a lot of people. At first he was awarded to become the only person who can import cooking oil to Burma. Later he also imported steel and iron to Burma by partnering with one Indonesia Company. He was sued by that very company for failing to return profits and loans to the company that produced iron and steel.

But in the end, the Indonesian company has lost that case because Maung Wate is a close allies of SLORC and also he has bribed tremendously to them. Therefore some Indonesian Businessmen has threatened Maung Wate’s life and his family for embezzling their profits and money. They even told him that he will be killed instantly as soon as he set his foot in any of the South East Asian Countries. In business circle, he was known for his cut throat and back stabbing business behavior.

Maung Wate has owned numerous real estates and properties in Rangoon. His most famous and grandiose real estate is the custom built homes and luxury condominiums near the corner of Pyi Road and Par Ra Mi Street. This place has been formerly known as quarters for flight attendants and pilots. Not only that, he was rewarded with places near the Hlaing University Campus. His properties near the Pyi Road have the market value of USD one million as the starting price. In addition to that, the house near the Liberty hotel has market price of USD 4 millions even though it is an old house. Now you can imagine how much money Maung Wate has by doing business with SLORC.

All of his houses and properties have been renovated with foreign interior designers and architects and used the state of the art modern technology and parts. He also built luxury homes for the daughters of the generals in his property. The houses that he built have better quality than the one U Tay Za has built. Therefore, his supply of new homes can’t keep up with the huge public demand. He also made a huge amount of profits by getting the biggest construction project near a town called Kyat Pyay near Pyin Ma Nar city. Because of his ability to maintain good relation with Generals by bribing, he was awarded almost all the government contracts along with Shwe Than Lwin Kyaw Win, Ye Ta Khun and Tay Zar.

The wife of General Than Shwe, Daw Khaing Khaing, is in favor of Maung Wate to be her son in law because of his business minded ability and bachelor status. But their vision was not really fast comparing with Maung Wate’s. He managed to get away from this trap by marrying someone whom he really liked as fast as he could. For him to get the special treatments from SLORC and their family, he has to bribe a lot of money. In addition to that, he ordered diamonds from overseas to give as a wedding gift for Than Shwe’s obese daughter. The other form of bribing that he did for the General was in the form of entertainment by building stages during Burmese Water Festivals. He built big stages to house people to throw water, sing and dance. It was primarily for the sons and daughters of SLORC. In those stages, they can get anything from drugs, call girls who are models and alcohol. It was an impromptu drug distribution network during the Water Festival. Not only he uses drugs for himself but also makes them readily available to anyone who needs it.

The cost of the entertainment for General’s sons by building stages and supplying them with drugs were in USD 100K or more. To get more traffic and promotions during water festivals, he built those stages in Rangoon and Mandalay under his close supervision. In this way, he has gained a multitude of wealth that no ordinary person can envision.

For one country to change its political system, business entrepreneurs and middle class play a vital role in this process. The American Revolution has started by a handful of business and middle class people. Also the fight for Burmese Independence from British and Japan was led by a handful of educated middle class Burmese. But now under the SLORC’s rule, the business people like Maung Wate and Zaw Zaw have created a whole new generation of despicable business men. Because of their low moral and ethics standard in Business practices and dealings, their mindsets are not ready for Democracy in Burma. Not only that but they also impose themselves as a barrier towards Burmese Democracy.

Drugs, Prostitution, gambling has caused the low morals among themselves and Burmese nationals. Therefore if we carefully study their so called, self proclaimed successful life we will see that,

* They lack an ability to lead or think for themselves. No leadership ability.
* They perform unfair or near monopolistic business behavior.
* They gain wealth by giving illegal money laundering or bribing. (The main obstacles against free and competitive market under democratic rule.)
* They are the main cause of destroying people morals and ethics.

That is the reason why they are the nemesis of the Burmese Democracy Revolution.

That is the angry message from Hotel and Tourism minister Soe Naing gave to employees of the ministry at a meeting held in Rangoon last week. Apparently, minister was very angry about the sanction. Regime and regime's supporters have always claimed in the past, that sanction has no effect on the self reliant and isolated regime like SPDC. Constructive engagement is the only way to get result. He also angrily asked employees. Do you know who did this? Do you know? Su Kyi! Su Kyi! Su Kyi! A diplomat states this is further proof that sanctions are starting to strangle the regime and hitting the heart of Than Shwe and cronies.

Myo Nyunt own multiple hotels and fishing businesses managed by his daughter who is mother of Nyan Htet Win. She is also a major donor of Union Solidarity and Development Association. She even got a visa from US embassy to visit and lived one year.

- Working in Capstone Turbine Corp, 21211 Nordhoff St, Chatsworth, CA
- there have been large amount of money transfer between his bank account and his family business.

In 2004, while Nyan Htet Win was a student at University of Irvine, he was arrested of shop-lifting in big Electronic store in Orange County California. He stole electronic goods worth of thousands of dollars at Fry's Electronics, 10800 Kalama River Ave, Fountain Valley, CA. He was taken to Orange County Jail and convicted of felon thief.

Now he is working as Engineer, obviously lied about his background to HR department. Please help us to check it.

General Thein Swe and Colonel San Maung plundering Burma’s resources

The Burmese military regime has leased five star shipping line to Eastern Car Line Ltd since the 1990s. The lease agreement is about $4500/ship. The plan was to lease four ships but two ships are running at present. The owner also has a small company and does marketing for Aiwa Agency.

Two Thieves:

Transportation minister General Thein Swe and Five Star line representative Col. San Maung (currently residing in Tokyo) are treating the ships as their inheritance and plundering it. They got bribes from the Japanese company. Their cut is $1000/day for two ships. The fair rate for leasing is about $ 9000/day and Burma is losing a lot of money for leasing those ships.

Burmese Embassy in Japan conferred an honorary counselor award to the chairman of Eastern Car Line company. The award holder has the privilege to issue entry visas to Burma. Five Star Shipping line is still carrying the Burmese flag but Burmese citizens have not enjoyed a penny for a long time. Burmese people are the true owners of the shipping line. However, generals and their cronies are lining their pockets with kickbacks and bribes. You are enriching the generals and indirectly prolonging the suffering of Burmese people by using the Five Star Line. For those reasons, we must boycott Five Star Shipping Line and Eastern Car Line company. We encourage you to express your concerns to the Eastern Car Line company.

We ask patriotic Burmese citizens and our international friends to write letters and arrange demonstrations in front of the Eastern Car Line company offices. They must stop enriching generals and stop plundering our resources.

We have received many questions and information from our fellow American citizens regarding the following issue. Currently, some Burmese ruling Generals' relatives and their closed associates are living in the United States. Some SPDC's elites visited to the United States even though they were not allowed to enter. The fact is that they all had visas issued by the US embassy in Rangoon.

We also heard that senior embassy staffs enjoy parties at Tay Za's house on Inya Road. How close they are and what kind of deal they may have made remains unanswered. It is a duty of all Burmese to expose it. Therefore, w e would like to urge you to consider as a serious matter and investigate this important issue whether it was intentionally or unintentionally happened.

Is that the official policy of the United States government to allow relatives and benefiters of the regime or US embassy officers in Rangoon acting on their own? Regardless, it undermines the credibility of the US government and its own policy. Here are some examples.

1. Zaw Tun Oo, son of late general Tin Oo and Khin Thida, daughter of former Rangoon mayor U Ko Lay had their honeymoon in the US.

2. Retired brigadier general Myint Shwe's daughter is living in Maryland.

3. Retired general Tun Kyi's daughter and three grandchildren get multiple visit visas. The children are going to school here.

4. Singer Myo Gyi, son of Major Khin Maung Htay came here a few times on visit visas.

5. Tycoon Tay Za and his cronies made multiple visits ( Tay Za, U Lu Lu, Min Thein, Hla Win and Aye Htun) to the US. U Lu Lu is well known as Tay Za's right-hand man. They chartered a plane from San Francisco to Las Vegas.

6. Aye Tun, son-in-law of retired general Kyaw Ba got multi pass visas to the US.

7. Sonny Swe, son of general Thein Swe and Ya Min Htin had a visit to San Francisco.

Is it time to take a legal action on Mya Myat Tun ( San Francisco)?

Dear Ko Moe Thee,

I am Burmese living in San Francisco. I feel guilty for betraying my mother land by being loyal to a friend. I am going to share what I know about my friend Mya Myat Tun in order to get a relief from that guilt.

Mya Myat Tun is 45 years old. She is the eldest sister of Aye Tun, who is son-in-law of retired general Kyaw Ba. She lives in San Francisco. She exports luxury cars and other items for Tay Za. In 1997, while US sanctions were already implemented, she sent three Mercedes sedans to Burma for general Kyaw Ba. During that time, Kyaw Ba was purged from the regime and Aye Tun had to get help from Tun Naing Shwe ( General Than Shwe’s son) to get the necessary permits for the cars. In return, Tun Naing Swe got one Mercedes sedan with a discounted price. Another one was sold to Wai Lwin, who got a permit to sell SONY equipment.

Mya Myat Tun travels to Burma quite frequently. She owns Thayapa hotel in Pagan and also a hotel in the capital Naypyitaw. Thanda Nay Win, daugher of famous actor Collegian Nay Win is also a shareholder in those hotels. She exports all luxury items and cars to Burma for Tay Za. Even though US has imposed sanction on Burma, people like Mya Myat Tun are helping the regime to escape the sanctions. What a selfish person!

Her brother Htin Paw Htun visited her while he was serving in Burmese Navy as a captain. He applied for asylum and it was granted while he was visiting here. Once his asylum was granted, he traveled to Thailand holding a refugee travel document. Then he crossed into Burma and got a new Burmese passport. Once he finished his business in Burma, he came back to Thailand using his newly acquired Burmese passport. He then used his refugee travel document to come back to the US. There are a lot of people like him too. Unfortunately, some activists in the democracy movement helped them get asylum. I encourage you to investigate things like this and expose it.

I request you to initiate a campaign to take action on people like Mya Myat Tun.

Here is more news about Mya Myat Tun by a Burmese citizen. She went to Singapore on October 28th, 2007 to meet Tay Za’s contact. She stayed at a $ 750/night suite at Hilton hotel. She is back in San Francisco now. She met Min Min Aung, a close associate of Tay Za. Min Min Aung is also responsible for importing oil and petroleum products for Burmese regime. The purpose of her visit is to do money laundering for Tay Za.

US has imposed economic sanctions on Burma since 1997. Mya Myat Tun is not only helping the regime but obviously breaking US law. This is time to ask the US government to enforce the existing law. We ask all Overseas Burmese to help us in bringing her to court.

There is a store name, Taw Win in Singapore's Peninsula Plaza. This store has been the forefront of money laundering business for the SPDC and it's fellows. Few weeks ago, one monk who is currently residing in Singapore wanted to transfer money to Rangoon and inquire about the nature at that Taw Win store. He was yelled at and treated improperly by the store owners. Because of their rude nature to the Buddha's son, I asked all the Burmese Patriots in Singapore to boycott this Taw Win store and also let the Singapore Government know about this illegal business done by this store.
